Prof. Al-Zubair Bashir Taha Elected as Wali (governor) of Gezira State
Khartoum, April 24 (SUNA) - The National Elections Commission announced that the candidate of the National Congress, Prof. Al-Zubair Bashir Taha, was elected as the Wali (governor) of the Gezira State by winning the biggest number of votes for the position 964,409 votes, followed by the independent candidate Malik Hussein Hamid who won 28,560 votes and the candidate of the Democratic Unionist Party Osman Omer Ali Ismail who won 20,599 votes
