President Al-Bashir inaugurates Hajjar girl students' campus in Omdurman

 

Khartoum, Dec. 30 (SUNA) - President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, inaugurated Wednesday morning Hajjar girl students' university campus in Omdurman, as one of the economic housing projects for students which are being implemented by the National Student Support Fund. Addressing the occasion, President Al-Bashir lauded the contribution of the administration and workers of the National Student Support Fund as well as the role of the private sector, especially the industrial sector, for the realization of the revolution of the higher education and the development in the country. President Al-Bashir explained that the housing of students was one of the challenges facing the higher education, saying that the National Student Support Fund has helped the universities in this regard by construction of large students' campus and housing cities. He commended the response of the businessmen to supporting the projects of the National Students Fund, namely Hajjar Group. Meanwhile, Minister of Industry, Dr. Jalal Yousif Al-Degair, said that Hajjar University Campus is one of three projects being adopted by the Ministry of Finance and the Industrial sector to make a quality shift in the students' university campuses in Sudan at the cost of 50 billion Sudanese pounds. The Executive Director of Hajjar Group of Companies, Taha Ali Al-Bashir, pledge to support the State's development projects for the development of education in Sudan, announcing the decision to give the buildings of the Group in Zalengi, West Darfur State, to the National Student Support Fund. The Secretary General of the National Student Support Fund, Dr. Mohammed Abdalla Al-Nigrabi, said that the fund has established more that 120 university student campuses and declared the intention to set up two similar campuses under the name of the renowned businessman Osama Daoud Abdulatif in Khartoum and Hassan Ibrahim Malik in Khartoum North. The inauguration of the campus comes within the context of the country's celebration to the anniversary of the Independence Day. The inaugurated project, which was named after the famous businessman George Hajjar in recognition of his contribution in supporting the projects of the National Students Fund, includes three buildings with supplements of services at the cost of 22 million Sudanese pounds to accommodate 800 female students.
