President Al-Bashir Returns Home from Qatar
Khartoum, Feb. 3 (SUNA) -President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, returned to Khartoum Wednesday after a one-day visit to Doha during which he held talks with the Emir of Qatari, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, on progress of the negotiations between the government and the armed movements of Darfur, which are sponsored by Qatar
The State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ali Ahmed Karti said in press statement upon return from Doha that the visit was aimed tot informing the movements that the available chance for the current negotiations will be in the rest days of this month and the beginning of the coming month, especially that the coming developments in the country will involve the government negotiator because there will be a new government and elected assemblies, in addition to a new situation that will be established in Darfur, a matter that will require changing of the current mechanism of negotiations
The minister said that this does not mean that the government will refrain from the negotiations, but to make it clear that any delay means losing of good opportunity
He affirmed the government keenness to continue the negotiations. IF/MO
