President Al-Bashir Calls on Youths to Adhere to Lofty Values

 

Khartoum, Feb. 18 (SUNA)- President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, pointed out that the state's strategy is giving a top priority to the creation of strong generations of youths who are capable to build the state of great Sudan

 

Addressing a celebration Thursday evening marking inauguration of Al-Izza Stadium at Um-Badda, Omdurman, President Al-Bashir called on the youth to adhere to the lofty values and performing the prayers and worship. He said that the state will establish sports infrastructures at every locality, affirming that the state, through the Ministry of Finance, is committed to fund the establishment of playgrounds and stadiums to create national sports' teams that will be able to compete regionally and internationally

 

President Al-Bashir has appreciated the results scored by the Sudanese sportsmen at gymnasium competitions at the international level

 

Meanwhile, the Wali (governor) of Khartoum State, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Khidir, addressed the celebration affirming his state's commitment to put into action the directives of the President of the Republic for expanding sports and stadiums at all localities

 

He said that Khartoum State will complete establishing 25 sports' yards in the current year 2010, indicating that sports became an aspect of the progress in every nation. Chairman of the Higher Council for Youth and Sports, Hashim Haroun, announced that his council has signed a number of agreements for establishing playgrounds for youths at a number of quarters and rehabilitation of a number of stadiums, including Al-Mauwrada and Khartoum Stadiums.
