Omer Al-Bashir Launches his Election Campaign for the Presidency in Darfur

 

Al-Fasher, Feb. 24 (SUNA) - The citizen Omer Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir, Wednesday launched his election campaign for the presidency in North Darfur, as the first place after Khartoum State

 

Addressing a big mass rally in Al-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, Al-Bashir ledged to complete realization of peace in Darfur and to dedicate all the capabilities, which was paid for the war, for the implementation of development and services projects and for the welfare of the citizens in Darfur

 

He said that several services could have been provided in Darfur, but the war has halted all the development projects, stressing that these projects in the fields of education, water, health and roads will be resumed

 

Al-Bashir called on Dr. Khalil Ibrahim and members of the Justice and Equality Movement to return and to contribute for the building of Darfur, appreciating the unification of the other movements under the title of Liberation and Justice, under chairmanship of Dr. Al-Tigani Sessi

 

He lauded the efforts of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Qatari Prime Minister, Sheikh Hamad bin Jasim Al-Thani, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed bin Abdalla Al-Mahmoud, along with the Chadian President, Idris Deby, the Libyan Leader, Muammar Al-Qaddafi, the President of Egypt, Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdalla bin Abdul-Aziz, the President of Eritrea, Assais Afwerki, the President of Iran, Ahmadi Nijad, the President of Senegal, Abdalla Wadi, the former Nigerian President, Obasanjo, for their efforts to realize peace in Darfur

 

Al-Bashir said that he recently announced that he will release 30% of the convicts in Omdurman incidents, but he today (Wednesday) he released 50% of the convicts, adding that the other convicts will be released later

 

He said that the war of weapons in Darfur has ended and that the war of development and progress began

 

The mass rally was addressed by chairman of the National Committee for Election of Omer Al-Bashir, Field Marshal Abdul-Rahman Suwaral-Dahab, and the Wali (governor) of North Darfur State, Osman Mohamed Yousif Kibir, who called on the citizens to vote for Omer Al-Bashir for the presidency

 

Kibir said that Darfur is now making confident steps in the path of peace, rehabilitation and development. MO/MO
