Members of Khartoum State Legislative Assembly Take Oath, Elect Mohamed Al-Sheikh Medani as Speaker
Khartoum, 9 May 2010 (SUNA) - The elected members to the Legislative Assembly of Khartoum State Sunday were sworn in during the procedural sitting, chaired by Haj Al-Tahir Mansour, the eldest member of the assembly, in the presence of the Chairman of the Judiciary
The assembly members then unanimously elected Mohamed Al-Sheikh Medani as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly following his nomination by the member, Ali Abu Hassan Abdalla, and seconded by the member Philip Anthony
The Speaker of the assembly then addressed the sitting affirming his commitment to lead the work of the Legislative Assembly via cooperation and accord among the elected members for the interest of voters, adding that the performance of duties of Khartoum State's assembly would make it a model one
