Kuwait Selected to Host Donors Conference for East Sudan
Khartoum, Jan. 9 (SUNA) - The joint higher committee for following up implementation of peace in east Sudan has selected Kuwait to be the hosting country for the Donors Conference for Support to Peace in East Sudan, scheduled for next March. Interviewed by SUNA, the Secretary General of the Fund for Support to Rehabilitation in East Sudan, Engineer Abu Obeida Duj, said that Kuwait was selected to host the conference because it is a friendly country that supports Sudan aspirations and acceptable to the donors. He announced that next March was initially set as a date to hold the conference in Kuwait. Duj said that the coming days will witness intensive diplomatic work so as to receive the contributions of the donor countries. He indicated that the engaged in work to determine the required rehabilitation and development projects that will be implemented in east Sudan. MO/MO
