Juba, May 21 (SUNA)- The elected President of the Government of South Sudan, Salva Kiir, has pledged to work for making unity as the attractive option

In an address he gave Friday after taking oath, Kiir said that serious tasks are awaiting his new government

He stressed that no government can be established without peace, lauding the sacrifices of the former leaders of Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM ). Kiir has reviewed the programme of the Government of South Sudan (GoSS) for the coming stage, especially with regard to providing security, education, health and services to the citizens

He pledged to pave the way for participation of the other parties and women in the government in south Sudan and pushing ahead the development process. Kiir pointed out that the unity between north and south Sudan is needy for efforts to be exerted by the two parties

The oath taking ceremony was also addressed by the Speaker of South Sudan Parliament, James Wani, said that they consider the people's trust on them, therefore they will work for the interest of the people

He lauded the efforts of the President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, and the former Kenyan President, Daniel Arap Moi, for realization of peace in Sudan
