Kassala State and three neighboring Eritrean Regions sign Memo of Understanding

 

Kassala, March 17 (SUNA) - A memorandum of understanding was signed Wednesday between the Government of the State of Kassala and three neighbouring Eritrean regions (Gash-Barka - Anseba - North Red Sea) at the Guest House of Kassal State in the political, economic and services domains. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Wali (Governor) of the state Eng. Ali Awad Mohamed Moussa, while the head of the Eritrean delegation, Mr. Musa Mohamed Rabiea, signed for the Eritrean side

 

The Wali of Kassala State said after the signing ceremony that the agreement reflects the inspirations of the citizens of the state of Kassala and the neigbouring Eritrean regions, expressing hope that the Memorandum of Understanding be a base for a joint programme to explore wider horizons of cooperation and integration between the two sides stressed that the open areas of cooperation and integration at all levels, affirming the government's commitment to implement the memo of understanding

 

The head of the Eritrean delegation appreciated the hospitality and warm reception they found in Kassala, noting that the visit was part of the continuous communication to strengthen strategic and historic relations as well as to support links between the two parties. He added that the visit was a fresh impetus for the Sudan and the neighboring countries in general, particularly in the Eastern side, and stressed willingness to work hard to strengthen cooperation for the implementation of what has been agreed on, praising Sudan's supporting stance to the issues of the people of Eritrea
