Gambari Appreciates Ethiopia Contribution to Helicopter Planes for the UNAMID Forces in Darfur
Al-Fasher, Feb. 7 (SUNA)- The special representative of the UN and African Union to Sudan, Ibrahim Gambari, has appreciated the contribution of Ethiopia to a number of helicopter planes in support of the UNAMID forces, which are expected to arrive in Al-Fasher on February 15
This came when Gambari met in Addis Ababa with the Ethiopian Foreign Minister, Seyom Musfen, the Ethiopian State Minister for Foreign Affairs and other Ethiopian senior officials
Gambari reviewed with the Ethiopian officials the challenges facing the UNAMID for providing security in Darfur
In a press release it issued in Al-Fasher, the UNAMID stated that the two parties exchanged views on means to prop up the peace process in Darfur
The Ethiopian Foreign Minister expressed Ethiopia keenness to support the UNAMID and its priorities in the coming stage, which include providing security for the civilians and displaced people in Darfur
