Foreign Ministry's Undersecretary and UNAMID Commander Review Situation in Eastern Jebel Marra
Khartoum, Mar. 4 (SUNA)- The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mutrif Siddiq, Thursday received the Commander of UNAMID forces in Darfur and reviewed the situation in eastern Jebel Marra area, following fierce clashes happened there between disputing groups of the faction of Abdul-Wahid Mohamed Nour
Dr. Siddiq said that the situation at the area is now calm and life there is returning to its normal course
Meanwhile, the government and UNAMID agreed at the meeting on conducting a joint assessment of the situation at the area of eastern Jebel Marra and launching survey tours to identify the humanitarian needs there and expanding work of organizations to areas that were unable to be reached during the clashes between groups of the rebel movement of Abdul-Wahid Mohamed Nour
The two parties underscored the importance of arrival of humanitarian aid to the needy citizens as soon as possible
