Foreign Ministry Refutes American Claims on Terrorism Threats Expected to Emerge from Sudan
Khartoum, Jan. 9 (SUNA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has rejected the warnings of the American Embassy in Khartoum to American nationals on plans woven by terrorists to stage attacks on air flights between Juba and Kampala. The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Muawiya Osman Khalid, said in a statement to SUNA that such informations are false and unfounded. He said that the Sudanese concerned authorities did not find during their follow up and monitoring existence of any threat emerging from the Sudanese territories against regional or international interests. He said that the United States should have discussed with the Sudanese concerned authorities any information in this regard so that the required measures be adopted instead of circulating baseless claims to the media. The spokesman said that the important thing is that the international aviation movement between Sudan and all the international capitals are progressing normally and safely. He stressed that the concerned security organs in Sudan are always following up with a highest level of alert the safety measures and are efficiently living up to their responsibilities. MO/MO
