Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir Addresses Mass Rally in Khartoum North
Khartoum, Jan. 13 (SUNA) - President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, pledged that the coming presidential and parliamentary elections will be fair and honest. Addressing Wednesday evening a mass rally organized by the national committee for election of Omer Al-Bashir, he said that Sudan will give to the world a genuine democratic and Shura experiment through which all people will be free to express their opinions. He reviewed in his address the historic and continuous struggle of the Sudanese people for emancipation from colonialism and aborting the intrigues against the nation. Al-Bashir said that his experience as an officer in the Armed Forces and the government has enabled him to be aware about the needs and aspirations of the Sudanese people. Meanwhile, the Assistant of the President of the Republic and leader of East Sudan Front, Musa Mohamed Ahmed, addressed the mass rally stating that that the national unity parties have elected Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir to complete the path for peace, development and stability. The leader of the Democratic Forum of South Sudan, Bona Malwal, said that President Al-Bashir has resigned from the Armed Forces to prove to the world that he is not greedy for power and is keen to realize pluralism and accord between all the components of the Sudanese people.
