Fathi Khalil Elected as the Wali (governor) of the Northern State

 

Khartoum, April 21 (SUNA)- The National Elections Commission Wednesday announced that the candidate of the National Congress, Fathi Mohamed Khalil, has won the position of the Wali (governor) of the Northern State after obtaining 184,370 votes, followed by Abul-Hassan Farah Ismail Idris of the Democratic Unionist Party who won 15,480, the independent candidate Abdalla Hamad Al-Malik who got 12205 votes, the candidate of the People's Congress Naji Abdalla Al-Haj who won 2470 votes, the candidate Osman Mohamed Osman who received 1704 votes, the candidate of Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) Izdihar Gumaa Sid-Ahmed who obtained 927 votes, and the candidate of the Umma Party for Reform and Modernization Abdul-Raouf Ahmed Hassan Gurnas who won 199 votes
