Ethiopian Foreign Minister: IGAD is Keen to Support Peace Process in Sudan
Khartoum, Mar. 4 (SUNA) - The Ethiopian Foreign Minister, Seyoum Mesfin, has affirmed the IGAD keenness to continue support to Sudan
In a statement to SUNA, Mesfin said that he is visiting Sudan among a delegation of the IGAD, which also includes the Kenyan Foreign Minister, in the context of the continuous contacts toward contributing to the re-building of peace on ground that IGAD is a sponsor of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) and a major partner in the signing of the CPA
He said that their visit to Sudan included meetings with officials in Khartoum and Juba for discussing the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), adding that they also met with representatives of the political forces in Sudan and identified their views on the peace process
Mesfin added that their visit also aims to be informed on the situation in Sudan, especially that the events in Sudan, whether positive or negative affect the situation in both Kenya and Ethiopia
