Dr. Salahuddin Discusses Elections Process with US Special Envoy to Sudan
Khartoum- April 5 (SUNA)- The Presidential Advisor and official of Darfur file, Dr. Ghazi Salahuddin, Monday reviewed with the US special envoy for Sudan, Scott Gration, the progress of the elections process in Sudan
Dr. Salahuddin said in a statement to the press after the meeting that presence of Gration in Khartoum these days comes to follow-up the issue of the elections and to assess what is going on
Regarding the meetings of the US envoy with the National Election Commission and the political parties, Dr. Salahuddin said these meetings aim to setting their own point of view with regard to the elections
He revealed that Gration's meeting with the various political parties discussed ways to bridging the gaps between the political parties
On the latest developments in Doha negotiations, Dr. Salahuddin said there is no major development, but he affirmed that consultations are continuing between the mediation and the new government
