Dr. Mutrif Siddiq Receives Chairman of Commission for Assessment and Evaluation
Khartoum, April 12 (SUNA)- The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mutrif Siddiq, received in his office Monday Chairman of the Commission for Assessment and Evaluation, Sir Derrick Plmbly, in the context of the continuous consultations between the commission and officials
Dr. Siddiq briefed Sir Plmbly on the current political situation in Sudan, especially with regard to the start of polling in the general elections
He referred to the efforts of the National Elections Commission for holding free, fair and internationally-monitored general elections in Sudan
Dr. Siddiq pointed out that the elected government will immediately establish the Commission for the Referendum and will name its members, adding that the Commission for the Referendum will adopt all measures for conducted the referendum in next January
Meanwhile, Sir Derrick Plmbly affirmed the hope of the Commission for Assessment and Evaluation and the international community that current elections in Sudan lead to more stability and development in Sudan
He regarded the elections represent an advanced step in the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA)
