Dr.Al-Jaz Meets US Envoy to Sudan
Khartoum, Feb. 3 (SUNA) - The Minister of Finance, Dr. Awad Ahmed Al-Jaz, met during his recent visit to Washington with the US envoy to Sudan, Scott Gration, and his aides
The minister, during the meeting, lauded the US envoy's positive stances toward Sudan, explaining that the visit aimed to discussing Sudan's indebtedness
Dr. Al-Jaz informed Gration on the positive developments in Sudan's economy with regard to surpassing the international financial crisis, the Implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), realization of stability in Darfur as well as the Sudanese - Chadian relations
Meanwhile, the US envoy said that he will help Sudan by contacting the debtors to remove the obstacles facing Sudan, lauding Dr. Al-Jaz for visiting US and presenting the issues in a positive way
The US official indicated that Sudan has exerted serious efforts to maintain good relations with Chad, besides the internal reforms in Darfur as well as the registration for the coming elections, a matter that he considered a positive signal can be used to convince the American administration to change its policy toward Sudan.
