Armed Forces Refutes Allegations on Siege Imposed on Towns in Darfur

 

Khartoum, May 6 (SUNA)- The Armed Forces has denied the false claims on sieges imposed on some towns in the three states of Darfur, describing these allegations as contradictory with the reality and the sound logic

 

A statement issued by the office of the spokesman of the Armed Forces Thursday, in response to allegations on sieges imposed by the rebel group of Khalil Ibrahim on a number of towns in North Darfur State, affirmed that the Armed Forces will not stand hand-fettered toward the aggressions of this group, but will respond forcibly and seriously to protect the citizens

 

The statement referred to the acts and aggressions done by the Justice and Equality Movement in west, south and north Darfur since its refuse to sign a cease-fire agreement in the presence of the joint mediator of the UN and African Union for peace in Darfur, Djibril Bassole

 

The Armed Forces reiterated that there is no town besieged in any of the three states of Darfur
