Al-Bashir and Afwerki Give Directives for Speeding up Process for Consolidating the Bilateral Relations
Asmara, Mar. 5 (SUNA)- President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, and the Eritrean President, Assais Afwerki, have given directives on formulation of detailed programmes for consolidating the Sudanese - Eritrean relations in all domains
In a statement to SUNA, the Presidential Advisor, Dr. Mustafa Osman IOsmail, said that the visit paid by the President of the Republic to Asmara provided opportunity for him to inform President Afwerki about the developments in the Sudanese arena, especially with regard to the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), Darfur issue and the elections
He said that the Eritrean President also briefed President Al-Bashir on the developments in his country
Meanwhile, Dr. Ismail expressed Sudan appreciation of the Eritrean role in boosting peace and stability in Sudan, which was reflected in the participation of the Eritrean President, Assais Afwerki, in the ceremony marking the signing of the framework agreement by the government and the Justice and Equality Movement in Doha recently
He said that the plots can not succeed to harm the relations between Sudan and Eritrea, asserting the keenness of the two countries to consolidate the relations between them in the economic, trade and cultural fields
