Al-Bashir Launches his Election Campaign in the Red Sea State
Port-Sudan, Mar. 22 (SUNA) - The candidate of the National Congress for the presidency of the republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, Monday launched his election campaign in the Red Sea State from the Stadium of Port-Sudan city
Addressing a mass rally in Port-Sudan, Al-Bashir reviewed his election programme, affirming his keenness to work for the permanence of peace, combating illiteracy, poverty and disease and maintaining Sudan independence and dignity
He pledged to enhance Port-Sudan city and to make it one of the most beautiful cities in the Middle East, indicating that the unique location of the city at the Red Sea qualifies it to be a major trade center at the international level
Al-Bashir pledged to enhance the health, education, electricity and services and to boost the development in the Red Sea State, especially with regard to improving Toker Delta Agricultural Scheme and implementing project of extending the Nile water to the Red Sea State
He reiterated the National Congress rejection to the calls for postponement of the elections and all the attempts of foreign intervention in Sudan affairs
The mass rally for launching the election programme of Omer Al-Bashir was addressed also by Musa Mohamed Ahmed, Dr. Riek Gai and Mohamed Tahir Aila
