Al-Bashir Lauds Role of Regular Forces in Defending Sudan Unity and Stability
Khartoum, Mar. 23 (SUNA)- The leader of the National Congress and its candidate for the presidency, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, has lauded the sacrifices given by the regular forces for defending Sudan unity and stability. Addressing a meeting with the retired personnel of the regular forces Tuesday, Al-Bashir referred to the unique role of the Armed Forces in protecting the nation's unity
The gathering was sponsored by the national committee for election of Al-Bashir
He reminded with the miserable conditions of the Armed Forces in the past democratic era
He said that the Salvation government decided to hold the election to silence the allegations on totalitarianism and dictatorship
Al-Bashir lauded the role of the police, security and People's Defence Forces (PDF) in supporting the Armed Forces till the achievement of victories. Chairman of the Committee of Retired Personnel of the Regular Forces, Maj. Gen. Gasmalla Abdalla Rassas, affirmed their keenness to support Omer Al-Bashir in the elections for the presidency of the republic
He said that the stay of Al-Bashir as the President of the Republic is the biggest guarantee for the nation's safety, unity and security and completion of the development and peace process
