31st Customs Conference of North Africa, the Near and Upper East begins Tuesday in Khartoum

 

Khartoum, Feb. 2 (SUNA)- The 31st Conference of the General Directors of Customs in North Africa and the Near and Middle East Tuesday morning began at Al-Fateh Tower Building in the presence of the Secretary General of the International Customs Administration and under patronage of the Vice President of the Republic, Ali Osman Mohamed Taha

 

In his meeting at the opening sitting, the Minister of Finance, Dr. Awad Ahmed Al-Jaz, called for more strengthening to the cooperation between countries for realizing common benefits and encouraging to the investments through the customs' gates

 

He referred to the strategic position of Sudan as a juncture between the Arab and African countries, a matter which stipulates enhancement of the customs performance and easing the trade flow between these countries

 

Dr. Al-Jaz asserted the state's concern with enactment of the legislation that leads to realization of the aspired goals and combating smuggling Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the International Customs Organization said at the opening sitting of the conference that the current meetings aims to enhance the international customs policies, working out common strategic policies for cooperation and building a sound international economy

 

He appreciated the excellent services being provided by the Sudanese customs authorities. MO/MO
