WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR STUDENT’S UNREST AT THE UNIVERSITY OF JUBA?

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said: “ Every man must decide whether he will walk in the creative atrium, or in the darkness of destructive selfishness.”

There’s all the evidence to prove that the recent clashes at the Juba University campus between students from the Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Movement (SPLM) and the so-called Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Movement for Democratic Change (SPLM-DC) was not an isolated incidence among students, but a well calculated plot by the kingpin of defection Dr. Lam Akol and his flunkies. Undoubtedly, the   game plan was carefully designed to create as much chaos as possible among the South Sudanese people wherever they are in order to pave the ground for dragging the attention away from the most outstanding issues facing the CPA and to deny South Sudanese people the vote for the referendum bill.

I spent last week and parts of this week dodging this issue. I have already been accused by Dr. Akol’s blind followers that am obsessed with criticizing the former FM. Some people asked me via e-mail if I have an opinion, and I declined to comment. My dear friend Peter Segac of Lansing, Michigan begged me to write an article, and I told him I had nothing to add to the discussion.

Truthfully, I didn’t want to repeat myself, because I have written quite a few columns about the “ Jallaba Southern Golden Boys.” Also, I  assumed that, by now, at the very least, any South Sudanese with an ounce of common sense will more likely figure out that Dr. Lam was personally behind the clashes.

The terrorist nature of the attack ( a method known only as a trade mark of the NIF terrorist regime) is uncommon among South Sudan’s peace-loving people. I now believe that those who were in denial, confusion or ambivalent about the SPLM-DC tied ties with the National Congress Party NCP/ NIF, have finally found the answers they were waiting for once it became abundantly clear that the SPLM-DC emulates to the letter the NIF/NCP’s   methods of eliminating those with whom they disagree politically.

Back in early 80s, the University of Juba was the one place I ever wanted to hang out at, because of its peacefulness. I was also honored to cover its first graduation live for Juba Radio, along side Ustaz Bol Warese ( Bol Nyayouk) and late Chaw Mayul Jok Chaw, among others. Southern students in particularly got along so beautifully, and there were no room for the bulling culture that the SPLM-DC is trying to impose.

And so while there’s no disagreement over Dr. Lam’s extraordinary educational achievements and exceptional cleverness and eloquence, the question ordinary folk in South Sudan are legitimately asking is, how could he be so greedy to the point of betraying the very people who along the road helped him reached his pine cal, only to be in alliance with those who have murdered over two million souls and raped our mothers and sisters, in one of the most calculated and systematic genocide and human rights violations the whole world has never seen.

But for all fairness sake, however, we are still willing to allow Dr. Lam Akol an ample time to answer those relevant questions. He owes that to the people he claims he cares about. Even more so, we need to know why Syria ( a harbor of the most vicious terrorist cells) of all countries became his Mecca, that he had to visit it twice in a row, in just a matter of a coupe of months apart!!!

Final thoughts

As you can imagine, of course, the NIF/NCP affiliated media outlets down played the terrorist attacks at the University of Juba, just as much as they did when Al Mariekh’s   soccer player, Capitan Richard Justin was   racially slurred against and bitten in Athebara, for no wrong doing other then fact that he was playing while black.

We need to wake up, and wake up in a hurry.
