British Activist Seized by Government Security Forces on Return to Khartoum

 

 

 

 

This morning at 9.30 am, Sudanese security personnel seized Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed from his father�s home in Masna, near Halfa , Sudan . Failing to give any reason for his detention, the security forces removed him and took him to Kassala jail where he is in detention.

 

Mr Ahmed is a British citizen from Camden , London who returned to Sudan to visit relatives. He has been active with regard to Darfur advocacy and is a member of the Fur tribe. This center fears for his safety and calls on the Sudanese government to release him immediately
