World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day to be marked Thursday
Khartoum, May 7 (SUNA) - The International Movement of the Red Cross and Red Crescent and the Sudanese Red Crescent Society celebrate here Thursday the world day of the international movement, which coincides with May 8. This was announced by acting secretary general of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society Mustafa Mohamed Osman at the regular Press Forum of the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) Wednesday. He pointed out that the movement is the biggest international network that extends aid to all without discrimination in terms ethnicity, race, religious belief or political view. He said this year celebration, which is under the auspices of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, will focus on the issues of voluntary work and humanitarian efforts, under the theme "Together for Humanity." The press forum was also addressed by representative of the mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), who reviewed the activities of the ICRC in Sudan since 1978. BT/BT
