Workshop on reformation of local government held
Khartoum, Jan. 11 (SUNA) - State Minister at the Ministry of Federal Government John Angol has stressed importance of development of the federal government at all levels, especially reformation of local governance in the states. This came when the Minister was speaking at a workshop organized by the Federalism Center for Research and Consultations in cooperation with the Institute of Federalism of the University of Fribourg of Switzerland on reformation of local governance in Sudan. Meanwhile, Director of the Federalism Centre, Dr. Omer Awadallah, highlighted the objectives of the workshop which comes in the context of the Sudanese-Swiss cooperation. He further explained that the workshop targets decision-makers at both the federal and state levels, adding that it sheds lights on the prospective steps to upgrade the local government. MF/ BT
