UAE express ready to support Sudan in the peace process and development, ambassador says on occasion of United Arab Emirates national day celebration

 

Khartoum, Dec. 5 (SUNA) - The United Arab Emirates ambassador to the Sudan, Issa Abdalla Al Nayimi, has reaffirmed his country's readiness to back the peace realization and development process in the Sudan. Ambassador Issa said his country's leadership blesses the government efforts in the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and its handling of the question of Darfur, via dialogue and national accord. In an interview with the Sudan News Agency, the ambassador who is the Dean of the diplomatic corp. in Khartoum, pointed out that relations between his country and the Sudan weredeveloped and are based on stable pillars that were initiated by Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan. The ambassador who was speaking to the SUNA on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of his UAE National Day, said at the top of the concern of his country's towards the Sudan comes the backing of peace and development, citing in this the many investments projects carried by his country in the Sudan saying they stand as model for the Arab countries. He said the recent visit of the President of the Republic Field Marshal Omar Al-Bashir and that of the First Vice President and of the Vice President to the United Arab Emirates was a good opportunity that gave a huge impetus to the strengthening of the relations between the two countries and that the outcome could be seen in the subsequent visits by delegations from the two countries. He cited the recent visit of a team of charity delegations to the Sudan and their discussions over what the UAE could provide for Darfur has resulted in the dispatch of Air Bridge and a medical team while a number of charity and voluntary organizations have implemented a number of charity programmes in the Sudan to serve the Sudanese people. The ambassador said investment projects carried by the United Arab Emirates in the Sudan in the financial service, agriculture and medical domains stands at over two billion us dollars. He said his country's assistance focus on the domain of the strategic domains such as bridges, road construction and dams such as the Merwe dam. The ambassador has meanwhile pointed out to the many achievements scored in his country under the able leadership of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayd al Nahian in the domain of education, social welfare and education as well as the continued development in the area of infrastructures.
