Sudanese delegation visits Al Rabie

Al Rabie Saudi Foods Co Ltd., a pioneering producer of dairy products and juices in Saudi Arabia and the largest juice manufacturer in the Middle East, welcomed a Sudanese delegation to discuss business prospects and strengthening of relations between Sudan and the food and beverages giant.

The Sudanese delegation included minister of finance Dr Awad Ahmad Al Jaz, minister of agriculture and forestry Dr  Al-Zubair Bashir Taha and minister of foreign commerce James Cook and governor of Khartoum Dr Abdulhaleem Ismail Almutaafi.

Industry and Technology Cities Authority general director Dr Tawfiq Al Rabia escorted the group.

During the talks, both parties discussed various potential business initiatives, effective procedures for enhancing import and export activities, and methods for improving communications, and an official.

After the meeting, the Sudanese officials toured Al Rabie�s operations and visited all its departments, during which they highly commended Al Rabie for maintaining excellent facilities and adopting industry-leading standards.

Saudi-based Al Rabie is a pioneering producer of dairy products, juices and ice cream in the Kingdom; its core businesses include juices, nectars, still drinks and dairy products.

Established in 1980, Al Rabie was the first dairy and juice company in the Middle East and the third internationally to use TetraPak�s Tetra Prisma aseptic packaging.

Al Rabie was awarded the King Fahd prize for the ideal factory in safety measures for four consecutive years, from 1994 to 1997. The company�s home base, Saudi Arabia, currently accounts for almost 70 per cent of the Gulf�s food and beverages sector.- TradeArabia News Service
