Sudanese President receives Gargash

Khartoum--The Sudanese President Omer Hassan Ahmed Hassan El Bashir, received here yesterday UAE State Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash and the delegation accompanying him at the conclusion of two-day visit.

Gargash told the media after the meeting he has briefed El Bashir about his visit. He said the current policies in Sudan have spurred the development in the country and would further boost peace and stability in the country.

He noted the UAE delegation's visit is in line with continuous consultation between the UAE and Sudan, describing the visit to South Sudan as "fruitful and positive", indicating that El Bashir is keen for the development through laws streamlining investment in the country.

He added that he met the Sudanese First Vice President and President of Government of South Sudan General Salva Kiir Mayardit and the Cabinet in Juba.

Gargash said he has conveyed the regard of President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to President El Bashir.

Kiir received Gargash, who is accompanied by high ranking businesspersons from banking, financial, communications, agriculture and property development sectors in Juba.

Kiir reiterated the position of the UAE as a regional and world financial, expressing his admiration about prosperity being experienced by the UAE. He added that Sudan welcomes UAE investments in different sectors in South Sudan, particularly in the fields of oil, energy, agriculture and property development.

On his part, Gargash underlined that the UAE has taken strategic decision to expand and diversify investments in Sudan in general and South Sudan in Particular.
