Sudanese-Dutch talks to begin Thursday
The Hague, Sept. 3 (SUNA)- Sudanese-Dutch talks will begin in the Hague Thursday under co-chairmanship of Minister of Foreign Affairs Deng Alor and his Dutch counterpart Maxime Verhagen. Minister of Foreign Affairs Deng Alor is to meet with external relations committee at the Dutch parliament following the talks. The talks between the two sides will discuss developments in Sudan especially Darfur issue and the ongoing efforts tending to reactivate the peaceful settlement and initiatives made by Sudan, said a press statement by Sudan Embassy in the Netherlands. The two sides will also tackle implications of International Criminal Court's allegations against the Sudanese sovereignty and informing the Dutch side on Sudan's viewpoint on the matter. The talks will also review progress of the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and means of boosting it and progress of the bilateral relations. The visit comes within the continuing consultation between the two countries on bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern. The Netherlands contributes effectively in the peace process in Sudan and member in the Assessment and Evaluation Commission and organizer of the donor conference for rehabilitation of Darfur. AH/BT
