Sudan informs Security Council on violations by Chadian government to Dakar Agreement
New York, March 24 (SUNA)- Sudan has informed the Security Council on the violations by Chad to Dakar Agreement, signed by the two countries on the sidelines of the summit conference of the Organization of Islamic Conference in the Senegalese capital of Dakar recently. Sudan Permanent Envoy to the United Nations Ambassador Abdel-Mahmoud Abdel-Halim said to SUNA that he explained to the Security Council that the problems facing the Sudanese-Chadian relations result from non commitment by Chad to agreements concluded between the two parties, citing as approve that the Chadian government before elapse of five days from the signing of Dakar Agreement carried out major operations and logistic arrangements and facilitated the entry of rebels from inside the Chadian territories to carry out sabotage acts and destabilize security in Darfur region, pointing out that this was represented in logistic support and provision of rocket launchers and Land Cruiser vehicles to Darfur rebel factions. Ambassador Abdel-Halim added that he affirmed to the Security Council Sudan commitment to Dakar Agreement, pointing out that unless the violations committed by Chad were dealt with seriously this would pose negative effects on the hopes pinned to the agreement and threat to peace and security in the region.
