   Jeddah, SUNA
Sudan has called on the Organization of Islamic Conference(OIC) to form a contact group for coordinating efforts with other groups for exercising pressure over UN Security Council to end Israeli aggression on the people of Gaza.

State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ali Karti, addressing the meeting of the Executive Committee of the OIC Foreign Ministers held in Jeddah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Saturday to look into Israeli aggression on Gaza, said Sudan is monitoring with deep regret the brutal raids carried out by Israel using its military arsenal against the inocent people of Gaza.
He indicated that President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir has made contacts with a number of leaders of Arab and Islamic states as well as the Palestinian Authority for seeking ways of halting the Israeli aggression and providing humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people of Gaza.
Karti explained that the justification for the heinous raids on Gaza is that Israeli government is fear of defeat in elections in next month.
The State Minister announced Sudan's welcome to Djibouti Agreement on Somali Issue between the interim Somali government and Somali factions in which formation of a Somali force for assuming the task of maintaining security in Somalia was agreed, saying Sudan supports this because it will be the alternative for any force that comes from abroad.
