State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs meets EC official
Khartoum, Nov. 20 (SUNA) - State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Al-Samani Al-Wassila received at his office Thursday the Chairman of Eastern and Southern Africa, Horn of Africa and the Pacific Department of the General Administration for Development and Humanitarian Aid of the European Commission (EC), Roger Moore. The meeting, which comes in the context of the Sudanese-European dialogue, discussed issues of mutual interest and the necessity for boosting cooperation between Sudan and EU in all domains. The minister reaffirmed Sudan keenness to maintain distinguished relations with EU through the European Commission and the Sudan's bilateral relations with EU member states. The European Commission's official, on his part, pointed out that the EC gives top priority to its relations with Sudan in light of its strategic importance and the active diplomatic role played by Sudan, especially in Africa and the Horn of Africa, indicating to the importance of Sudan location among the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group which are connected to the EU through Cotonou Agreement on developmental and economic partnership linking the two sides.
