State Minister at Ministry of Labour Announces State's Plan to Implement Civil Service Development Project

 

Khartoum, Dec. 30 (SUNA)- The State Minister at the Ministry of Labour, Dr. Mohamed Yousif Mustafa, said that the state will implement a project for development of the civil service. Addressing Tuesday at the Oil Club the Workshop for Development of the Civil Service and Manpower, Dr. Mustafa said that the total cost of implementing the project was put at 24 million dollars, indicating that the cost of the first stage implementation is five million dollars. The workshop was organized by the Unit for Implementation of the Civil Service Development Project in collaboration with the World Bank and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). He said that the civil service development project will be implemented through effective partnership with the World Bank and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The minister stated that the project deals with enhancement of the civil service structures, capacity building and training and realizing financial reform. Meanwhile, the Advisor of the Minister of Labour, Dr. Abdalla Al-Bushra, said that the implementation of the project will begin early next year. He affirmed that the recommendations of the workshop will be put into action. The workshop has discussed a paper on decentralization and administrative reform, presented by the lecturer at the University of Gezira, Dr. Mohamed Al-Mubarak, and another paper on the activities of the civil service development project which was presented by the project's Deputy Director, Suraj Ahmed.
