Khartoum, Jan. 28 (SUNA) - The State Minister at the Ministry of Information and Communication, Dr. Kamal Obeid, has revealed new and serious details on the situation in Darfur and dimension of the Chadian support to the rebel Justice and Equality Movement. He said in a press statement that Chadian forces of the Republican Guards entered Darfur carrying supplies for lifting the siege imposed by the Sudanese Armed Forces on forces of the Justice and Equality Movement in areas northern and eastern Al-Fasher city. Dr. Obeid said that the Armed Forces siege on the rebel forces of the Justice and Equality Movement was tightened after closure of the gateways to the city and Muhajiriya area in South Darfur State. He said that the attacks of the Justice and Equality Movement resulted in casualties among citizens, deterioration of the humanitarian situation and displacement of thousands after their villages were burned by the rebels. The minister accused Chad of providing protection and passing facilities to the Justice and Equality Movement from Um-Jaras area inside the Chadian border until Muhajiriya.
