President of Republic to Leave for Doha on Friday at the head of Sudan Delegation for UN Conference for Financing Development
Khartoum, Nov
(SUNA)- President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al- Bashir, will leave for Doha next Friday leading Sudan delegation to participate at the United Nation Conference for Financing Development, which will be hosted by Qatar during Nov. 29 - Dec.2nd. Sudan Representative to United Nations and member of Sudan delegation to the conference, Ambassador Abdul-Mahmoud Abdul-Halim, told SUNA that the conference aims to review the directives which were worked out by the UN Conference for Financing Development which held in Mexico in the year 2002. Ambassador Abdul-Halim indicated that the conference will review among other issues international financial, trade and economic development issues, implementation of the commitments of the industrial countries toward financing development in the developing and the less-developing countries, the international financial crisis, food shortage, climate change and the power problem. He said that the conference will give due concern to the problem of debts, especially following failure of the previous initiative with regard to cancellation of debts. He said that President Al- Bashir conference will meet at the conference with heads of states participating in the conference and will review with them issues facing Sudan. IF/MO
