Khartoum, Aug. 4 (SUNA) - President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir Monday received a message from the Chadian President Idris Deby affirming readiness of his country to normalize relations with Sudan. This came when the President received the delegation of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group (ACP) at the Republican Palace Monday, headed by Ambassador Abdou Abari, who conveyed the message. The President expressed Sudan's readiness to consider resumption of relations with Chad in response to the request of the group and the movements by a number of countries including Senegal and Libya. Chairman of the delegation, Ambassador Abari, who came to Sudan via N'djamena, said in a statement to the press that resumption of diplomatic relations between Sudan and Chad would restore the confidence and push forward the efforts to solve the issue of Darfur. He further pointed out to the geographical, historic, social and cultural relations linking Khartoum and N'djamena as well as their membership in many organizations, including the ACP Group which includes some 79 countries as its members.
