President Al-Bashir receives Chairperson of African Union Commission
Khartoum, Aug. 4 (SUNA) - Chairperson of the African Union Commission Jean Ping has affirmed importance the international community fulfill it commitments to provide technical and logistic support to UNAMID peacekeeping troops and boosting the efforts of the joint AU-UN Chief mediator Djibril Bassolé to realize the political solution in Darfur. Mr. Ping said in a press statement following his meeting with President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir at the Republican Palace Monday that the meeting discussed situations in Sudan, UNAMID besides the mission of the joint AU-UN Chief mediator Djibril Bassolé. He considered the decision of the International Criminal Court will complicate the situation in Darfur and negatively affect the peace process in the region. BT/BT
