President Al-Bashir Receives Congratulatory Message from His Russian Counterpart on Occasion of Independence Day
Khartoum, Dec. 29 (SUNA) - President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al- Bashir has received a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 53rd. anniversary of Independence from Russian President Demetri Medvedev. This came when the Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry, Dr. Mutrif Siddig received Russian Ambassador to Sudan Monday who handed him the message, which affirms the principle stance of Russia of respect of Sudan's sovereignty and territorial integrity, respect of international laws and solution of disputes through diplomatic means and political dialogue. The Russian President pledged to boost the efforts being exerted to promote the strong bilateral relations linking Sudan and Russia to serve common interests as well as attaining security and stability in Africa. Meanwhile, Dr. Siddig also received a similar message from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Foreign Minister Deng Alor on the same occasion. The Russian Foreign Minister in the message pointed to the deep-rooted relations between Sudan and Russia, affirming that his country will work for promoting them further for the interest of the peoples of the two countries. He pointed out that Russia will support sustainable security and stability in Africa and the Middle East. IF/BT
