Population Census Council affirms completion of census operation by 100%
Khartoum, May 7 (SUNA) - The population census operation has been completed in the country by 100%. A press statement issued by the Population Census Council Wednesday praised the considerable efforts made by the concerned bodies in this connection. The statement appreciated the efforts of the enumerators all over the country and the cooperation of the citizens as well as the big media campaign that accompanied the process. The statement described the census operation as unprecedented in Sudan since the first count in 1955, considering the number of enumerators, intensive media campaign and response of the citizens. It explained that the beginning of the third week of current May would witness start of the national survey to pick data from forms and the data will be ready for analysis by the beginning of July and that all information concerning the census would be submitted by the end of September to the Presidency of the Republic, which is body entitled to declare the results of the census.
