Minister of Interior affirms improvement of security situation in Darfur
Khartoum, May 6 (SUNA) - The security situations in Darfur are considerably improving compared to the previous years, said the Minister of Interior, Engineer Ibrahim Mahmoud Hamid. In this connection, the Minister explained that there has not been any attack during the last four months except the incident in Jabal Moon in Kolbus locality, in in northwest Darfur, as a result of the incidents of Chad. The Minister explained in the regular press forum of SUNA organized at the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with the Press Office of the Ministry Tuesday that the Examinations for Sudan High Secondary School Certificate went on very well and smoothly in the various localities of Darfur compared to the previous years in which the students sit for examinations in the headquarters of the three states. He also referred to the completion of the 5th Population and Housing census all over the Sudan except the area of Rukrou at the peak of Jabal Maraa, attributing that to the stability of security situations and good covering by workers in the census. He also referred to the smooth flow of food stuff to Darfur via roads except of scattered armed robbery incidents for vehicles without escorting police forces. The Minister further referred to the voluntary repatriation of the internally displaced persons to their home villages besides solving of tribal conflicts. MF/ BT
