Minister of Foreign Affairs meets his Canadian counterpart

 

Khartoum, March 25 (SUNA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs Deng Alor discussed with his Canadian counterpart Maxime Bernier the efforts being exerted for implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, the situation in Darfur, issues of IDPs and the hybrid operation. Deng Alor said in a press statement after his meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tuesday with the Canadian Foreign Minister, who arrived in the country Monday on a five-day visit, that Bernier would meet a number of government officials and would visit Al-Fashir and Juba, where he would meet First Vice President of the Republic and President of the Government of Southern Sudan Salva Kiir Mayardit. The Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, on his part, affirmed the importance of the visit to his country. Meanwhile, Director of Communications at the Office of the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Neil Hrab said in a statement to SUNA that the visit is considered as the first to Sudan by Maxime Bernier since he assumed his office last August, adding that the visit comes to get acquainted with the situations in Sudan.
