Minister of Energy, Mining chairs meeting of Advisory Council of his ministry
Khartoum, Nov. 18 (SUNA) - The Minister of Energy and Mining, Al-Zubair Ahmed Al-Hassan, Monday evening chaired the second meeting of the Advisory council of the Ministry of Energy and Mining, in the presence of the Secretary General of the ministry and members of the Advisory Council. The meeting focused on the development of mining Industry in Sudan. The Director of the National Geological Research Corporation, Dr. Abdul-Raziq Obeid, highlighted on the importance of minerals and mining industry in Sudan, calling for much concern to the training of the Sudanese cadres in order to assume the development of the mining sector in Sudan. Dr. Obeid gave an inclusive presentation about Mining Industry in Sudan, including the history of Mining in Sudan, types of minerals, etc. The council members gave a number interventions and inquiries about the work of the National Geological Research Corporation, and stressed the importance of the use of iron mineral in various economic and architectural aspects in Sudan. The minister responded to queries raised by the members of the Advisory council and reiterated his ministry's keenness to make available the funds necessary for the development of the mining industry and encouragement of investment in all fields of energy and mining.
