Minister of Energy, Mining chairs meeting of Adviseory Council of his ministry
Khartoum, Nov. 18 (SUNA) - Minister of Energy and Mining, Al-Zubair Ahmed Al-Hassan, Monday evening chaired the 2nd meeting of the Advisory council of the Ministry of Energy and Mining, in presence of the Secretary General of the Ministry and many members of the Advisory Council. The meeting focused on the Development of Mining Industry in Sudan. In this regard, Director of the National Geological Research Corporation, Dr. Abdul Raziq Obaid, highlighted the importance of minerals and mining industry in Sudan, calling for giving much concern to the training of the Sudanese cadres in order to assume the development of the Mining Sector in Sudan. Dr. Obaid then made an inclusive presentation about Mining Industry in Sudan, including the history of Mining in Sudan, types of minerals, etc. The members then put forward some interventions and inquires about the work of the National Geological Research Corporation, stressing importance of Iron in various economic and architectural aspects in Sudan. The Minister, on his part, answered the questions raised by the members of the Advisory council and reiterated his Ministry keenness to make available the funds necessary for the development of Mining Industry as well as encouragement of investments in all domains of Energy and Mining.
