Higher Committee for Management of Crisis Calls for Informing about Adopted Legal Procedure on Darfur
Khartoum, Aug. 5 (SUNA) - The higher committee for management of the crisis with the International Criminal Court (ICC), headed by the First Vice - President of the Republic and President of the Government of South Sudan (GoSS), Salava Kiir, has directed the Ministry of Justice and the judicial authorities to inform the internal and foreign circles on the legal lines being adopted with regard to the procedure, investigation and trials on Darfur. In its second meeting Tuesday at the Republican Palace, the committee recommended continuity of the diplomatic movements and contacts and expanding the scope of the political and legal work to refute the ICC allegations. In a statement after the meeting, the State Minister at the Ministry of Information and Communication and member of the committee, Dr. Kamal Obeid, said that the committee has called for speeding to the arrangements for holding a meeting with the political forces on the initiative of the people of Sudan for solution of Darfur issue. He said that the committee got acquainted with the activity of the people's committees for conducting reconciliations as well as the security arrangements and the efforts to patch up the rift at the social fabric in Darfur. Dr. Obeid said that the higher committee for crisis with the ICC reviewed reports about the ongoing diplomatic and legal work to confront the ICC prosecutor's allegations. MO/MO
