High-level security delegation of federal government starts visit to Darfur states for implementation of security arrangements

 

Al-Fashir, Aug. 6 (SUNA)- A high-level security delegation of the federal government, headed by Minister of National Defence Gen. Abdel-Rahim Mohamed Hussein, started Wednesday a visit to the states of Darfur, they began with North Darfur State, in implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, to boost security and order in Darfur states. The Minister of National Defence pointed out in a press statement in Al-Fashir that he had discussed with the Security Committee of North Darfur State a number of issues, including securing roads between the three states and the measures adopted to secure the movement of transport and people in the states. The minister added that the delegation's visit also tended to discuss the security situation in the towns in Darfur states, the humanitarian situation in the displaced persons camps and their security and getting assured on the progress of the voluntary return operations. This is besides getting assured on the freedom of movement of the international organizations and agencies. The minister, further, pointed out that the delegation of the federal government got assured of the cooperation between the Armed Forces and the other security organs and the forces of the Joint Mission. The delegation arrived in Al-Fashir Wednesday morning. The delegation was received at Al-Fashir Airport by Wali (Governor) of North Darfur State Osman Mohamed Yousif Kibir and senior officials in the state. BT/BT
