Forum of the People of Sudan Approves its Final Report in Historic Sitting
Khartoum, Nov. 10 (SUNA) - The Forum of the People of Sudan for Solution of Darfur Problem Monday held a meeting at the Friendship Hall under the chairmanship of Chairman of the Committee for the Unity of National Rank and member of the Presidential Committee of the forum, Field Marshal Abdul-Rahman Suwar-Eddahab, in the presence of President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir and the Vice - President Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, and approved the final report of the forum by consensus of the conferees. Field Marshal Suwar-Eddahab eulogized at the outset of the session the late former Chairman of the Council of the Head of State, Sayed Ahmed Al-Mirghani, referring to his patriotic deeds. The Rapporteur of the forum, Dr. Al-Tayeb Haj Attiya, said that the final report is the fruit of the deliberations at the forum. He said that the idea that was launched in the Guest House through the declaration of the President of the Republic would be extended through the peace negotiations in Doha, Qatar, to reach peace. He said that the decisions of the forum represent a support to the Arab-African initiative for solution of Darfur issue. The speakers at the meeting underscored the importance of formation of mechanisms to implement and follow up implementation of the forum's decisions and recommendations. They also called for reactivation of the Sudanese diplomacy role, especially with the United States under the presidency of Barack Obama. MO/MO
