First Vice President renews Sudan's commitment to complete the peace process in Darfur
Khartoum, Aug. 5 (SUNA) - First Vice President of the Republic Salva Kiir Mayardit renewed Sudan's commitment to complete the peace process in Darfur. This came when the First Vice President received at his office at the Republican Palace Tuesday the European Union Special Representative in Sudan, Torben Brylle, affirming keenness of the Sudanese Government to implement the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) as key for stability and development in Sudan. Meanwhile, Brylle said in a statement to SUNA the meeting reviewed the general situations in Sudan as well as efforts to solve the issue of Darfur besides improvement of the security and humanitarian situations in Darfur. He explained that the meeting further discussed the mission of the joint Chief Mediator in Darfur, Djibril Bassole, toward the achievement of sustainable peace in Darfur, lauding the efforts of the First Vice President in this connection.
