Exportation of the First Shipment of Sudanese Sheep to Saudi Arabia Today

After a one year stop, the first sheep shipment exported to Saudi Arabia left to Saudi Arabia yesterday following the quarantine regulations which proved that the Sudanese sheep is free from any animal diseases. Ministry of Animal Resources affirmed its commitment to adopt all the international specifications and measurement required in animal health and quarantine.


For his part, Minister of Animal Resources, Mohammed Ahmed Al-Tahir Abu Kalabeesh confirmed the government care on the animal wealth as one of the national economy pillars especially in these days which witness the international financial crisis.

Ministry Undersecretary, Dr. Mohammed Abdul Raziq Abdul Aziz affirmed completion of all veterinary and quarantine regulations pointing that batches of sheep moved from North Kurdofan towards export harbour.

It is to be noted that a Saudi veterinary delegation visited the country to see on the ground the improvement in quarantine regulations in Kadaro and Port Sudan quarantines.
